Quick Chaat
Ingredients
- black channa or Rajma 1 cup
- 2 tsp oil
- ginger paste 1/2 tsp
- big onion 1 number finely cut
- tomato 1 number finely cut
- salad cucumber 1/2 finely cut
- red chilly powder as required
- chaat masala as required
- salt as required
- 1/2 lemon juice or tamarind extract equal quantity
Method
- wash and soak black channa or rajma overnight
- As pressure cooker starts steaming turn the heat down to low medium and cook for about 15 minutes. Close the heat and wait until steam has stopped before opening the pressure cooker. Chana should be soft and tender.
- Drain the water and save it for later use, this water is high in protein and can be used for making the soup or dals.
- Heat the oil in a sauce pan over medium high heat. Add the chana, stir for few seconds.and switch off the gas
- Add other ingredients and mix well .

Puliogare Andhra Style
Puliogare or Tamarind Rice is a well known telugu receipe.As Hindus consider turmeric powder a symbol of auspiciousness, Pulihora
is usually cooked on special occasions and festive days. It is presented
to god as part of prayers also given as prasadam in some temples; devotees queue to get Pulihora after darshana.
How to Prepare
Items
Rice 1 Cup
Tamarind 1 small amla size(soaked in water and take the cream part)
channa dal one handful
peanuts one handfull
mustard one teaspoon
curry leaves
coriander leaves(for flavour)
Turmeric powder
methi powder
Oil 2 tbbsp
Red chilly 2 or 3
Cook one cup rice in pressure cooker.It shouldnot be overcooked.
In a large kadai pour 2 tablespoon oil.
Put Channa dal,Red chilly,Peanuts ,mustard,curry leaves.
Put tamarind cream ,turmeric powder and methipowder. Mix well.Now add the cooked rice and mix it well

Ayurveda Thazuthama is known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic
properties. Traditionally it is used for the treatment of various hepatic
disorders. Roots
is used as expectorant, diuretic, laxative, stomachic, diaphoretic, emetic,
anthelmintic, febrifuge, purgative, used
in anemia, jaundice, oedema and ascites.
All its parts – flowers, leaves, stem, roots - have their own specific uses. It is an effective first aid in many cases.The leaves are rich in iron.
- Blood Purification: Drinking water boiled with thazhuthama leaves can purify the blood.
- Consuming its leaves (after cooking) is good for eyesight. Here we make a dish with its chopped leaves mixed with coconut, we call it ‘thoran’. I hope 'mallus' know it very well :)
- Crushed roots mixed with medicated oil can cure dizziness if applied on the head.
- Consuming the juice obtained from is said to have the capability of curing cataract and myopia. But do it after proper advice to achieve good results.

Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix together the mustard, garlic,
vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. While mixing,
slowly add the olive oil .Place the salad greens in a medium bowl and add enough
dressing to moisten. Sprinkle with a little extra salt and pepper, if
desired, and serve immediately.
