Good for Skin

Bengal Gram Flour Apply a paste of Bengal Gram flour with yogurt for the treatment of pimples and other skin allergies. Apply green gram flour mixed in water or glycerine for improving complexion. This pack should be applied for 10-15 minutes preferably before the bath.
Fenugreek Apply a paste of fresh fenugreek leaves in water over the face every night and washed with warm water in the morning for preventing pimples, blackheads, dryness, and wrinkles.Apply a decoction on the face, made by boiling 1 tspn fenugreek seeds in 1 liter water for a few of minutes for preventing pimples, blackheads, dryness, and wrinkles.The use of fenugreek for preventing dandruff was decribed in my previous post.
Garlic Rub raw garlic on the face for persistent pimples. The pimples will disappear without scars with repeated applications.
Almond Oil Almond oil is good for dryness of the skin and for removing scars of old pimples. Ground the outer cover of 3-5 almonds in with water and apply over the face daily.Almond can be taken in which also will be good for the skin.
Honey Apply honey (1 tspn) mixed with water for all skin blemishes. This will turn your skin glowing.
Neem Leaves Swallow 10 fresh ground neem leaves with water to clear the skin.
Orange Apply a paste of ground orange peel (dried) with water for acne/pimples.

Magic of Turmeric-PART1

This is turmeric, Manjal in Malayalam which comes under the same family of ginger. Its brilliant yellow color is because of the presence of curcumin chemical that also makes it a brilliant and active dye. This is used in India extensively in dishes as it is a taste enhancer. Turmeric is considered to be effective in healing internal injuries. Turmeric is one of the best antiseptics known to man. It has been considered to be good for strengthening stomach and purifying blood. Turmeric’s use in children’s common cough will be illustrated in my following post.
Skin
Mixture of turmeric, sandalwood, fresh cream is good for the skin as it is a rejuvenating cream. This is good for dry skin, skin discoloration and prevents ageing. This turmeric is used by ancient royal ladies as cosmetic. This turmeric powder mixed with red sandal made into paste is applied to the skin. This helps to remove pimples, unwanted black marks due to pimples etc and also prevents ageing and keeps the skin fairer for ever.
Psoriasis
Turmeric is a well known medicine to control psoriasis. It can be made into paste and applied into the infected area. About 2-3 Gms of turmeric can be taken into the body directly or by adding in dishes will also help to control psoriasis.

Urine therapy


Urine therapy is an alternative medicine which uses human urine for medicinal purposes by drinking and externally applied. India’s former Prime Minister Morarjee Desai who was excellent in health opened his secret of being healthy as he used to drink one glass of his own urine every morning. In India urine therapy is called Shivambu.It is well known that our urine contains enormous amount of vital nutrients, minerals and antibodies. For example, urine contains enormous amount of melatonin a hormone which helps to regulate sleep. Now studies had proved the fertility can be improved by this urine drinking as it contains the necessary hormones. Advocates of auto-urine therapy believe this combination can help cure everything from the common cold to cancer, boost energy levels and sexual performance. This includes cancer,Psoriasis,dry skin,aging,tooth decay,ecemea ,diabetes .For psoriasis urine should be massaged all over the affected parts .Also drink one glass of ones own urine(most preferably the first urine) every morning.

How much should a baby sleep?

This question will be asked by almost all parents especially when their first baby is born. The new born will be sleeping almost all the time. i.e. about 18-20 hrs. But this duration may vary for different children. There are some children who won’t sleep for the whole night for the first one month. This is not a disease or nothing is wrong with the baby.nothing can be done for this just allow your baby to do as he/she likes but they will change themselves after some days.. then we can make a good schedule for his sleep. The duration of sleep is perfect for your baby if he/she is not having any indigestion, comfortable with their feedings, no unnecessary quarrels etc... Usually babies will be sleeping from feed to feed for the first one or two months... they will control their sleep accordingly and will sleep on alternate feeds and like that. Another thing to note is that babies will themselves develops their timetable of wake and sleep and used to do like that everyday. From sixth month probably babies will cut one of their sleeps during day time. Good sleep is necessary for the healthy growth and development of brain.So please don't interrupt your baby's sleep.
The average two year old child should sleep for 10 hours in the night and a nap in the daytime. And for a one year old child it is 12 hours and a nap…

Yoga

As everybody knows there is a relation between stress and psoriasis. To reduce stress there are many methods like Yoga. Yoga is an ancient Indian practice to make growth and maturity to mind, purify blood etc.Yoga by word means joining .Many researches have found that Yoga and meditation are excellent for the control and cure of many diseases including psoriasis. This will give relaxation to mind .It is good to do savasana for 5-10 minutes and do meditation for 45 minutes daily. In addition to this Soorya namaskar (Sun salutation) is also good. Simple breathing techniques can also be adopted.
By meditation the mind will be relaxed so its good to do this as tensions are increasing day by day.

Good Food for Psoriasis


People with Psoriasis can benefit greatly from the food they eat and lifestyle . Many researches have shown that fatty acids,beta carotene,omega-3, folate, zinc etc are important in the control of psoriasis .Carrots,apricots,mangoes and green leafy vegitables are rich in beta carotene which then body converts into vitaminA which is very necessary for the skin.Flax seeds are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids.Brocholi which is rich in folate and wholegrain foods which are rich in zinc are also essential.The best thing is to eat lively foods which are from organically grown vegitables.Avoid too much intake of carbohydrates and dariy products.But butter is exceptional because omega-3 oils are found in butter obtained from grass eating cows.
In addition to all these the patient should drink lots of water atleast 2litres per day.
AVOID
  1. Red meat
  2. Dairy food except butter from grass feed cows
  3. Eggs
  4. Smoking and Use of Drinks
  5. high fatty ,spicy foods

So I think you start eating the way our ancestors did.
